quatro I love to quote movie lines. It runs in my family of origin - whenever we're together it's sometimes a whole conversation made up of movie quotes! My husband is finally starting to learn the language.

cinco Speaking of movies, some all time favorites (and it pains me to choose just three here, but you haven't got all day) include: Love Actually, Tootsie, Once

seis Favorite do-dad: the Jane Austen action figure my boys gave me for Mother's Day last year. I love her. She is my friend.

siete Since I started writing in earnest, ten years ago, my life has been infused with joy and adventure of the fiction and non-fiction variety. Blogging is just another extension of that happiness. Thanks for writing with me!

writers, though today's post is a little different from the norm, i'd still love it if you'd come write with me! in the comments section, share seven things about yourself - i'd like to know you better :)
I think that writing is hard. Not just jotting something down or making a grocery list... but writing a cohesive engaging work. At some point in life I began to believe that I am, among other things, a storyteller.
ReplyDeleteWe are all complex. We love and hate and frustrate. We laugh and share and strive. We thrive. We wain. And we seem to need to do. Part of defining a purpose. Our reasoning, I guess, for taking up all this oxygen and space and fast food.
Isn't it fantastic how someone else can energize or inspire you? That sharing an idea, an encouraging blog, can lift you out of the morass of indecision and into... writing! And then others write. And everyday we share an image and smiling note from our host... and we read and write. Different things from different places in us. Now that deserves an award.
CONGRATS on your well deserved award! :)
ReplyDeleteAww, and thanks so much for passing the award on to me, Demery! I'm honored and grateful. (and pitifully bad/behind about posting them)
I am VERY intrigued by the mention of a Jane Austen doll? For real? I wants one! *off to google*
I hope you're having a lovely holiday weekend. :)
Love,
Lola
Congrats on your award. :)
ReplyDeleteHmm. 7 things about me? Let's see...
1. I don't like flying, but mainly because I'm claustrophobic, not because of any innate fear of hurtling through the sky.
2. I love licorice.
3. Some wines give me a stuffy nose.
4. Fall is my favorite season.
5. I don't have a thing for fabulous shoes--as long as they're comfortable and not too ugly, I'm fine.
6. But finding a good-fitting pair of jeans makes me ridiculously happy.
7. I'd rather eat a bowl of cold cereal for dinner than cook for myself.
I certainly understand your being chosen for the Versatile Blogger Award. I love this site. And thank you, also.
ReplyDeleteSeven things you may not know about me.
1.) I erratically wear facial hair. Sometimes a full beard, sometimes a Van Dyke, sometimes just a mustache. It's on whim., or if required in a role. Sometimes none at all.
2,) Well, perhaps these two should be reversed; I am an actor and director. No, not rich famous ones, starving ones. It's taken me much of my life to get to be a starving artist.
3.) Actually, I practiced at it a bit as youth. I didn't have the fortitude for it then.
4.) I am a high school drop out. Half true. I failed out. My English teacher flunked me the third time in the sixth marking period of my senior year. It was a sixteen credit high school, I had twenty one and half credits,. If she had passed me I would have had twenty two and half. But that failure was of the fourth of four required credits in English.
5.) My high school senior year English teacher didn't like me.
6.) It was a mutual feeling.
7.) It didn't damage my little psyche. Something else already had.
Congrats on a well-deserved award! *smiling at you*
ReplyDeleteHmm, seven things - okay...
1) I am RIGHT NOW supposed to be working on Book 4, which has a deadline, and instead I am here playing . . .*laugh* ...oh oh
2) I hate when people put their bare feet on me - unless it's a child or baby, then I guess it's okay .... but when GMR sticks out his old ugly bare foot and tries to put it on my skin _ EEK EEEK STOP IT EEK _ UGH -- laughing... I'm weird that way.
3) I won't eat pork because I love pigs. They are so smart! THey're like dogs! I tell people 'you are eating a dog!' they just laugh at me and chow down on their pork product. I tell them, did you know a pig saved a farmer from drowning - that pig was on its way to the slaughter-house and it saved that farmer's life! humph! they just ignore me and eat their pig product. *sigh*
4) Sometimes I babble too much (see 2 and 3)
5) I have these fantastical dreams - always have had vivid weird dreams - but, if I were to try to write them and make a story out of them, I find I can't do that so easily.
6) Once a "shadowman" watched me sleep - when I woke up, "he" was staring down at me - but he wasn't human - he was nothing but a dark shadow shape-it was truly a strange experience
7) Sometimes I sing Opera around the little log house, but thing is, I'm a horrible singer and I don't like Opera, so I just do it just to get on GMR's nerves -teeheehee
I am a virgin blogger, so be gentle. Seven things about me:

5. Age is a state of mind.
6. I love Mother Teresa's quote: we can do no great things, just small things with great love.
7. I believe happiness is a choice.
