"i would hurl words into this darkness and wait for an echo, and if an echo sounded, no matter how faintly, i would send other words to tell..." - richard wright
welcome
welcome readers & writers! in this cyber space please find: + a photo writing prompt + a place to post your creative writing response (poem, memoir, short story or the like) to the prompt + a community of readers and fellow writers excited to read your writing + morsels of genuine fiction, poetry & creative non-fiction as the blog is updated. share a response as often as you'd like. everyday discoveries from my life, captured on film, will serve as prompts. this is not a place where we will critique one another's work; however, words of encouragement or praise for writers who share their work are most welcome. writers, share your story, poem or creative non-fiction response to the photo by clicking on comments; word count is flexible. cheers! demery
You might think this is a cute picture or perhaps a nice holiday decoration. But it is a true sadness to those of us who can "see" to tell you, this is Santa. No really, this is the real Santa. He may not look like a live person and all, but there is a reason.
ReplyDeleteYou see, Santa learned the hard way that you shouldn't taunt a witch. Especially the Wicked Witch of the Southwest. One lil' raspberry and he ends up as a kid's stuffed doll for all eternity and those damn reindeer are running loose slinging that sled all over the place and causing a lot of damage to airliners and radio towers. Not to mention the deer dropping are everywhere! The good news is that they have taken our over a hundred hunters and now deer season means something else entirely.
Ho ho ho!
just wanted to stop in and say MERRY CHRISTMAS!
ReplyDeleteFilm Guy - thank you for writing with me! Love your spin on the photo.
ReplyDeleteKathryn - MERRY CHRISTMAS to you :) I count myself blessed to have made a new blogging/writing friend in you this year!
